Title: Mini Me
Description: It was quite a challenge to design and make this little gem, as I have never made a miniature quilt before.
I thoroughly enjoyed the journey and because everything about this little quilt tells you something about me, I have called it ‘Mini-Me.’
It tells you about my love of beautiful vibrant colours and my never-ending enjoyment of the versatility of working with fabric and creating different textures with it. It tells you that I am capable of getting lost in my creativity and happy to experiment. However, it is also indicative of my need to remain within a comfort zone, by the use of the ‘safe’ black fabric - black has never let me down.
During the past 16 years, I have participated in all the National Quilt competitions, winning many prizes and awards for my work. My artwork has been exhibited in the USA, Canada, England, Scotland, Belgium and France and has been featured in several publications. I have served on regional and national quilting committees and I am a Past President of The South African Quilters' Guild.
