Description
During the Covid 19 epidemic I spent many hours in the garden, drinking endless cups of tea and sewing. In this work the fragility of life is depicted by the fine lace and the teabags, which tend to crumble if not treated with care. A variety of materials were used to capture the beauty of the plants. Layering of varied threads and wool in areas stand as a conceptual metaphor for the delicateness of life itself. Threads were pulled and oversewn, flower images were embedded, and all the time, I was acutely aware of the flimsiness of the teabags.
